This case study analyses the acquisition of an Indian company by Teva Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (TAPI), Israel. It focuses on Teva API and the company that it partnered with, JK Drugs and Pharmaceuticals from the years 2001 to 2005. The case study is analysed based on the International Business Flake, an analytic framework for global business architecture, which builds on the star theory of Spulber. It helps in analyzing where in the world one performs what operations and how does it affect the overall strategy of the business. It ensures that one evaluates competitive strategy as well as local modifiers at each point of decision making.
